It’s perhaps pointless to mention it, but it still grates on me, everytime I visit this land, that Americans never use the phrase “you’re welcome”. Each time I thank someone, for anything, anywhere, I get one of the following responses:
“No Problem” (actually, this one is also infecting Canada).
I have set it in my mind that whenever an American says “Thank-you” to me, I will respond with an enthusiastic “You’re Welcome”, with a big smile.
Someday, an American just might say thank you and I’ll get to try it.
