I am sticking arond Regina for a few days, to give the foot a little rest and to reflect on the state of this adventure so far, and whether I am likely to continue to enjoy travelling this way. Assuming that I do, I am also going to give some consideration as to what route to take next. I am somewhat tempted to take a north-easterly route, as that will take me into an ecoprovince that is different than that of the primary prairie that I have been in (and will be in through southern Manitoba). It is reportedly a little more hilly, a little wetter, and has a greater diversity of wildlife.
I went to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum today. It was pretty good (and free!). It starts at the creation of the planet, and works through to the present day, all within the framework of the existence of the geographical area that is now the province of Saskatchewan, mainly. Not highly technical, but informative nonetheless. I will have to go again tomorrow to finish.
I am meeting lots of exotic people in the hostel. There’s “Bob” from the Netherlands, and “Tom” from Japan. What ever happened to names like “Rik” and “Kimoki”?
